Many candidates has been asking us alot of questions regarding JAMB Change Of Course, Change of Institutions & making corrections. Some of the questions they ask us includes:
> Can I do Change OF Course two times ?
> Can I do change of institutions two times ?
> Where can I do change of course & change of institution ?
> Is it possible for me to correct my name after JAMB ?
> When will change of course start ?
> When will change of course end ?

Well, here is the right answer to that :

The Joint Admission and matriculation board(JAMB)  has warned candidates who wish to effect changes on either their course and institution or make corrections on any of their data that it the process can only be done twice.

JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, Fabian Benjamin made this known in an interview in Bwari, FCT, on while officially announcing the reopening of the 2017 Change of course/institution and data correction exercise on Wednesday.

According to him, “You are allowed to change courses and institutions not more than two times, if you change the first time and experience an issue, you are allowed to change the second time.

He warned candidates against going to unapproved CBT centres for their change of course/ Institution and data correction.

He emphasised that the board will not be held liable in events whereby a person’s change is not reflected.

“We have had situation where candidates will go to Cyber Cafés and do whatever they like and then say the change did not reflect, the board will not entertain such complaints.” he stated.

He equally said that the process of change of courses and institutions could be done with the payment of N100 in JAMB Computer Based Tests (CBT) centres, and N250 at other approved centres.

JAMB Change of Course/Institution – Why Candidates Apply

There are obviously three good reasons why a candidate may need to change his/her jamb choice of course or institution or both:

Low JAMB score:

After the release of Jamb results, the next thing to face is admission screening exercise and admissions. Now take for instance that someone applied for a federal university of technology, Minna who will probably fix a cut-off mark of 200 and above; if such candidate scored less than 200, it simply means he/she has lost the admission. In this case the change of institution to a state-owned/private University becomes necessary. State universities generally fix cut-off marks below 200.

Incomplete O’level results

In this case candidates who may have ran into deficiency of required credit passes in some key/relevant subjects may decide to go for change of course to accommodate themselves.

Mistakes during registration
